High-bandwidth memory (HBM) has emerged as a critical bottleneck as AI workloads scale. Nvidia is aggressively pursuing upcoming HBM4 solutions to complement its Vera Rubin platform.

SoftBank extended Asia's technology rout on Friday, sliding 9.7% by Tokyo's midday break as investors continued pulling money from the region's most crowded artificial-intelligence trades. The fall followed a brutal Thursday in Seoul, where SK Hynix tumbled 13%, Samsung Electronics lost 8.8% and the Kospi sank 6.4%.

SK Hynix stock fell as much as 11% in Seoul on Thursday, surrendering most of the previous session's sharp rebound as another sell-off in memory and AI-hardware stocks spread across Asia. The reversal came after the company's Korean shares surged nearly 13% on Wednesday.

Xiaomi stock retreated for two consecutive days after a report confirmed that the company was losing market share in the smartphone industry. It slipped to H$25.82 in Hong Kong, a few points below this month's high of H$26.70.
