Latest News for COIN

Coinbase jumped 12% on Wednesday following President Trump's latest call to help pass a law that would enable crypto firms to issue yield-bearing stablecoins.

Coinbase Global Inc (NASDAQ:COIN) stock is charging higher this morning, last seen up 7.5% to trade at $196.08, the cryptocurrency wallet enjoying a halo lift alongside Bitcoin (BTC).

President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind crypto firms in their high-stakes battle with U.S. banks over whether they can offer interest-like returns on stablecoins. Trump, in a social media post late Tuesday, ratcheted up pressure on banks to relent on the stablecoin yield issue.

Crypto-linked equities are surging in premarket trading Wednesday morning. Strategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) is up 6.7%, Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN) is up 5.6%, and Circle (NYSE: CRCL) is up 2.9% as of 7:55 AM ET, with Bitcoin providing the fuel for all three moves.

Coinbase has reportedly gotten the White House's backing in a battle over pending cryptocurrency legislation. President Donald Trump met Tuesday (March 3) with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong before publicly siding with the company in its ongoing fight with banks over the stalled stablecoin-focused bill, Politico reported, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.
