Persistent fiscal deficits, ballooning sovereign debt and rising geopolitical fragmentation are forcing investors to rethink what constitutes a safe-haven asset, and one digital asset executive says the answer increasingly includes both gold and Bitcoin.

Senators from both parties blocked a landmark digital asset market structure bill in a procedural vote, sending crypto stocks tumbling. The bill would have handed the CFTC the primary authority to regulate the digital assets industry, but failed to advance with a vote of 49-50.
