Adyen has unveiled a suite of tools to help companies sell via conversational artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. Adyen Agentic, announced by the payments FinTech Tuesday (June 16), includes a trio of layers designed to address the various stages of the customer journey in agentic commerce.

Adyen aims to enhance its offering to companies with usage-based pricing models by acquiring Orb. The companies have entered into a definitive agreement in which Adyen will acquire Orb through a reverse triangular merger that will make Orb an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary managed under an incubator model.

Adyen's processed volume increased 21% year over year in the first quarter to reach €382 billion (about $449 billion), showing continued resilience in consumer spending, the company said in a first-quarter business update released Wednesday (May 6).

Adyen plans to acquire Talon.One, a platform for loyalty and incentives that serves more than 300 global merchants, for a total consideration of 750 million euros (about $878 million).
